Sundays at Nicola Pizza are supposed to feel like the quiet, off‑season exhale of Lewes… but the 107 people who packed the room today clearly didn’t get that memo. I was filling in for DJ Sharon... and let’s be honest, you adore her, and so do I, so the crowd spent the first few minutes giving me that polite, “you’re fine, but you’re not her” energy. Fortunately, nothing melts tension faster than a dabber, a slice, and a playlist that refuses to behave. I already uploaded your pics from today's game, so check them out! The rounds took us on a full tour of musical nostalgia: 80’s synths, Motown magic, girl‑name anthems, and 70’s disco grooves 🕺. Every time a banger came on, the room erupted in that signature Nicola blend of cheers, singing, and the occasional victory dance that looks like someone trying to stand up in a canoe. Bingo achievers came fast and proud, shouting “FUNKY BINGO!” like they’d just solved a cold case, and at least one person who dabbed with the confidence of a seasoned calligrapher.

Somewhere in the frenzy of awarding gift cards at the end, I managed to knock over my tall glass of tea. The floor survived. My pants did not. Those nearby enjoyed it far more than they should have, and I’m fairly certain Sharon would have handled the moment with more grace and drier pants. But hey, every show needs a little slapstick. So, the secret art bonus next week is... draw a spilled drink on your Round 2 Funky Bingo card. If you get a Funky Bingo in Round 2 and the art bonus is there, your name will go onto the wheel TWICE. If you don't achieve a Funky Bingo in Round 2, turn your card in anyway after folks who got a bingo on the final song are processed. Then, BAM, your name will go on the Winners Wheel!
